IT REALLY IS MORE OF AN ASTRID EPISODE. Really the lesson learns is ASTRID IS TERRIFYING. Also we know each other and I try to keep her calm when she's on a range and they have THE BEST relationship thing going on.
Bit more feeling of YES, definitely interested in her. Rider is just...waiting for the moment when it comes up he's actually in some relationship with her because his life always has to be complicated.
Actually this probably explains why Astrid is TERRIFYING IN GENERAL. Apparently the Hofferson's had a ruined name and she was determined to make it right. NO WONDER SHE WANTED TO MURDER ME WHEN I WON DRAGON TRAINING.

Okay, so there is some residual mom feels, but Rider would already have that from the other two memories involved with this episode. He gets to see more of the dynamics with his friends which is good to know.
BUT.
THE IMPORTANT THING.
IS THE END BIT.
So earlier Hiccup was a mix of SIGH and DERE, but mostly sigh before. Mostly because Hiccup didn't truly see it as a thing for them to HELP him with. Up to this point, it's always been Official Business except for the treasure hunting bit. But the treasure hunting bit was THEIR idea and then HE got involved.
This time, however, it was something personal to Hiccup. First for his father, then for getting back something from his mother. The only reason they were involved was probably just to have some fun, but it never really registered as them being there FOR HIM.
It's expect for ASTRID to be a friend because she's Astrid, but even after bonding with Snotlout, it still wasn't to the point where he expected them to stay. He fully believed they would leave him on his own to look for the chest except for maybe Astrid.
But then they didn't.
Even if Snotlout said they're not really friends, he knows the truth. This is friendship. It's at THIS MOMENT Hiccup fully realizes and accepts he has friends he can truly count on. Who will help him just because it's important to him. This moment is why in the final Hiccup, for the first time, asks for the other kids to come with him on the Night Fury hunt, instead of it having to be Official Business, or someone else asking them to come.
This is very important because Rider always needs some reassurance that, yes, he can ask friends for help. This is good and important and ACCEPTABLE. He doesn't have to earn it, it's just what friends do and it will help. It will help a lot especially with the memory he will have in this batch.
Negative Significant: The last few times. (Form: Paint brushes. Paint something to view. Non-shareable.)
This is a thing that was referenced in the beginning of the movie! Where in Hiccup is protesting that his hitting the Night Fury is legit this time! Unlike the other last few times.
So basically what's happening is there is a raid going on, Hiccup runs off to the forge, waits for a perfect opportunity to leave, does so with a machine of some sort and tries to hit the Night Fury! Unfortunately it doesn't go well. Either the machine doesn't work period, or it backfires. Usually at people and makes things unpleasant and some dragons get away. STUFF GETS BROKEN, PEOPLE GET HURT, HICCUP TRIES TO JUSTIFY IT WITH ALMOST HITTING A NIGHT FURY, AND GENERALLY IT'S A DISASTER.

Okay, so there is some residual mom feels, but Rider would already have that from the other two memories involved with this episode. He gets to see more of the dynamics with his friends which is good to know.
BUT.
THE IMPORTANT THING.
IS THE END BIT.
So earlier Hiccup was a mix of SIGH and DERE, but mostly sigh before. Mostly because Hiccup didn't truly see it as a thing for them to HELP him with. Up to this point, it's always been Official Business except for the treasure hunting bit. But the treasure hunting bit was THEIR idea and then HE got involved.
This time, however, it was something personal to Hiccup. First for his father, then for getting back something from his mother. The only reason they were involved was probably just to have some fun, but it never really registered as them being there FOR HIM.
It's expect for ASTRID to be a friend because she's Astrid, but even after bonding with Snotlout, it still wasn't to the point where he expected them to stay. He fully believed they would leave him on his own to look for the chest except for maybe Astrid.
But then they didn't.
Even if Snotlout said they're not really friends, he knows the truth. This is friendship. It's at THIS MOMENT Hiccup fully realizes and accepts he has friends he can truly count on. Who will help him just because it's important to him. This moment is why in the final Hiccup, for the first time, asks for the other kids to come with him on the Night Fury hunt, instead of it having to be Official Business, or someone else asking them to come.
This is very important because Rider always needs some reassurance that, yes, he can ask friends for help. This is good and important and ACCEPTABLE. He doesn't have to earn it, it's just what friends do and it will help. It will help a lot especially with the memory he will have in this batch.
Negative Significant: The last few times. (Form: Paint brushes. Paint something to view. Non-shareable.)
This is a thing that was referenced in the beginning of the movie! Where in Hiccup is protesting that his hitting the Night Fury is legit this time! Unlike the other last few times.
So basically what's happening is there is a raid going on, Hiccup runs off to the forge, waits for a perfect opportunity to leave, does so with a machine of some sort and tries to hit the Night Fury! Unfortunately it doesn't go well. Either the machine doesn't work period, or it backfires. Usually at people and makes things unpleasant and some dragons get away. STUFF GETS BROKEN, PEOPLE GET HURT, HICCUP TRIES TO JUSTIFY IT WITH ALMOST HITTING A NIGHT FURY, AND GENERALLY IT'S A DISASTER.

Mostly it's a hit to his confidence. He really was just SO DESPERATE for approval and he was rushing his inventions and generally just being a nuisance. It...does not mix well with a lot of the other things he's remembering in this batch. Mostly countered by the good things! (Until he does the forced share memory.)

HOLY SHIT THE BERSERKER TRIBE IS HUGE FFFFFFFFFFFFFF GOOD THING WE HAVE AN ALLIANCE (hahaha)
Dagur is still ABSOLUTELY insane. But despite his insanity, there is definitely intelligence in there. He's not as blinded by arrogance as Alvin and his insanity makes it's a lot harder to figure out WHAT he'll notice and that is...very worrying.
But surely that won't be a problem for another year at the very least, right? :'D
Whose telling other tribes we're amassing a dragon army though? Is it Alvin? Someone else?
